Vice President

Bern Krekeler has been Vice President of the Federal Office for Goods Transport (BAG) since 20 october 2022.

Mr. Krekeler was born on May 29, 1958 in Lüdenscheid. He is married and father of four children. After completing community service, he studied law at the Westphalian Wilhelms University in Münster. He completed his legal clerkship with the state of North Rhine-Westphalia in 1988 with the 2nd state examination in law.

As a fully qualified lawyer he began his professional career in March 1990 at what was then the Federal Institute for Long-Distance Freight Transport. Since then he has worked in various areas as branch manager, head of department and head of department at the Federal Office for Goods Transport.

In September 2018, Mr. Krekeler took over the management of the "Control Services" department.

Bernd Krekeler has been Vice President of the Federal Office for Goods Transport since 20 October 2022.
