Vice President

Bern Krekeler has been Vice President of the BALM since 20 october 2022.

Statement by the agency’s management

“Beginning as the ‘Bundesanstalt für den Güterfernverkehr’ founded in 1952, the BALM as an independent higher federal authority today has developed into a service provider for modern mobility.

The BALM is therefore strengthening its core competencies in the “traditional” task areas of roadside checks, toll and spot checks. At the same time, we are engaging with future trends in the field of traffic by promoting sustainable mobility as well as carbon-neutral means of transport such as cycling.

Our work makes a significant contribution to improving road safety and environmental protection as well as duty equity and competitive fairness on Germany’s roads.

We set the standards for a modern mobility and transport policy.”
